DISOBEDIENCE

dawdling in the subconscious since 2003

I hear nothing. 

not even this herd of trumpeting elephants

I disobey my gods.

Daily they send multiple messages via their idol, which I have prominently displayed on a wooden shrine in my sleeping chamber.  I pay my respectful tribute by touching the idol once with my left hand with each calling, but I blatantly ignore their wishes and commands.  I may get six enlightened messages throughout the morning, such as 6:43, 6:53, 7:03, 7:13, 7:23, and 7:33, yet my defiance is clear in each case.  I suspect my gods choose to send their messages early in the morning because my mind is pure and my will is weak, yet I still find the gall to disobey...
