Wow, check out this film!   It's Simon's Dream, by Chuck Olsen.

SIMON'S DREAM PROJECT

At Jinx's recommendation, last summer I began to watch a series of films about dreaming and dream states.  This piqued my interest in dreaming as a human phenomenon and I subsequently began a series of simple experiments in an attempt to become more aware of my experiences during sleep.

My family has a history of vivid dreaming.  My mother, my sister, and myself frequently remember in great detail our dreams, which more often than not are detailed and elaborate.  I have from time to time documented my more interesting dreams in this or that journal, but had not practiced this with much continuity until this year.

When I began learning the web in February, the internet became a great forum to begin methodically journaling my dreams.  At first I had little reason for doing this beyond chronicling my nightly adventures for my own amusement (and for that of my friends).  But as I slipped into the habit of thinking about my dreams every day, I noticed a surprising transformation:  It was becoming even easier to remember them!  I concluded that since I go to sleep every night with the idea that I am going to have to record my dreams, I actually somehow manage to pay more attention to them as they occur!

So I feel you really can train yourself to get more out of your dreams, simply by getting in the habit of thinking about them when you awake.  For more on this, please read my article Why keep a dream journal?

Following what I feel has been a breakthrough in my own dream awareness, I realise that this corner of the Ladytrap is more than just a collection of stories and illustrations, but an ongoing online project dedicated to the understanding of dreaming.

ATTENTION, DREAMERS!

The Ladytrap Dream Project is expanding into a group effort!
