the enav and ben days in belize
This photos fails to demonstrate the lot we were in. This freak windstorm ended up dragging us a quarter mile on our anchors. We thought we were in a cozy little protected bay but the wind came out of exactly the wrong location --the narrow entrace-- sweeping waves down the chute, threatening to send us into the mangrove. Pat ended up diving on the 15-foot-deep anchors in pitch dark to set them deeper in the soft silty bottom. We ended up having all three out and that held us for the evening.
